Dr. Pauline Yeghnazar Peck

Helping educate, empower, and encourage the children of immigrants to live full, free, meaningful lives. Bridging the mental health gaps between immigrant upbringings and western psychology. Supporting you in doing the two-fold work of breaking harmful intergenerational patterns while also reclaiming the essential goodness of your culture.

I understand what you're going through...

As a child of immigrants, you’ve grown up straddling multiple cultural worlds, each with their own norms, rules, and expectations; each with their own lessons and cultural messages.

Within your immigrant home, you didn’t receive the emotional attunement you needed and find yourself still struggling with how to best tend to something that wasn’t given much, or any, attention.

But in the Western world, even popular psychology doesn’t seem to fully fit. You find yourself often thinking “that won’t work for me or my family.” So you feel lost.

Moving to the US from Iran at the age of four, I know what it’s like to grow up with gaps in my understanding of mental health + stigmas around needing help or guidance. Growing up in southern California as a white-passing woman of color, I also struggled to make sense of where I “fit" and belonged.

The skills my parents taught me were focused on surviving, not thriving. And my Western psychology training left me feeling discluded and judged. Again, I found myself in the in-between.

It took me years to understand that the experience I was having was not unique to me but shared by many. It took me years to unlearn what I had been taught and to reclaim what I knew in my bones, but had forgotten.

Now it’s my mission to support others to do the same.
